Hi scouts and parents,
We have the objective to make scouts as fun as possible for all ages. We understand some of the older scouts, and those who go to Jamboree might be looking at the future and wondering "what next". Michael and I are very keen to offer a program to those who want it that develops skills and leads to a major adventure activity.
Options we were thinking are:
1. Develop cross country ski skills, culminating in a weekend ski tour (supported by Branch qualified instructors)
2. Develop sailing skills, culminating in a major sailing journey (eg sail to Queenscliff on "Wild Side" yacht and camp there in tents, then sail back, note Martin should be qualified instructor with scouts by then).
3. Develop canoing or Kyack skills culminating in a major canoe camp journey (supported by Branch qualified instructors)
4. Develop hiking skills, culminating in a major hike (martin is qualified to take major hikes)
5. Explore air activities, rock climbing, abseiling or caving with various Branch teams
It wont happen unless you tell us what you want to do, please come and have a chat with Martin and/or Michael.
The theme here is "just do it !!"
