Cooking camp is hotting up

"A" Team now includes Brendo plus Sarah, Nick, Emma, Whitney and Miles.  Need to tell me preference Fri night or Sat ?  Sarah suggests Christmas in July (almost) as the theme, seems fun and easy to arrange.  Lets chat Wednesday.


Rules


Have to cook on a fire

Lunch 2 courses

Dinner 3 courses

Must use somewhere corn and sultanas

Must make damper

Must have theme

Dress up the table and formally sit down to dinner

 

Sat breakfast (if we go Friday night)


v  Fresh fruit

v  Jaffles – if we have jaffle irons

v  Billy tea

 

Sat lunch


v  Baked potatos (alfoil cooked plus cheese, sour cream, grated carrot, butter)

v  Mini Pizzas in dutch oven

 

Sat dinner


v  Heated garlic Turkish bread in dutch oven with Hummus dip

v  Aristos lamb stew with fetta dumplings (a Vaughan family favourite) in dutch oven

v  Roast veges in dutch oven, including corn

v  Chocolate sauce pudding in dutch oven

v  Marshmallows of course

 

Sun breakfast


v  Fresh fruit

v  Billy tea

v  Damper with sultanas & jam/golden syrup

 

Make sure scouts bring


v  Good raincoat

v  Thermal sleeping mat or stretcher with thermal under depending on which tents – we will take either army tents or large dome tent (boys one end, girls the other) – discuss Wednesday.  3 boys and 3 girls so cant take domes any more

v  Really good sleeping bag or if you have cheap ones bring two (one inside the other)

v  Scout shirt and scarf for closing parade

v  Toiletries and towel

v  Any medication or medical safety gear, let leader know please
