Please advise beforehand any dietary requirements for shared dinner on Saturday night.
Also, any allergies, medications or other health issues to be noted on the form and advise Graeme.
Pack Weight (less is always more comfortable) should be 8-9kg max without food, water, and tent, and 12kg or less when other food included. Have only minimum changes of clothes, but have warm outer clothes, good wet weather gear, and a warm sleeping bag (or one put inside another). Forecasts for Sale and Bairnsdale are mostly sunny, min 6 max 23 degrees but likely colder in the Mitchell River area, and weather may change. Sturdy shoes or boots would be good.
Thursday 3rd Oct, 7:30pm at Scout Hall: Personal Packing Check – So bring your pack with your personal gear, completed Health and Info form, and $20 for food. A half of a Tent will be allocated to you along with Camp stove and Food will be planned, bought and divided up. Food will avoid cans, eg use soft pack sauces and pasta. Bring your own breakfast.
Hike Location: Mitchell River National Park near Cobbannah.
Departing: 6:00pm, Friday 4th October, Scout Hall.
4.5hr Drive from Scout Hall to Angusvale Camping Area, Mitchell River National Park.

Returning: 6:00pm Sunday 6th October, Scout Hall (or earlier as advised)
4.5hr drive from Den of Nargun Camping Area, Mitchell River National Park to Scout Hall.
Schedule:
On Friday 4th we will stay at the Angusvale Camping ground.
On Saturday 5th we will hike 12km following the walking track down besides the river to then camp the night at Billy Goat Bend Camping and Picnic Area.
Sunday, hike 6km in the morning to the Den of Nargun and then pick up from nearest Picnic area about 500m away. Return to Melbourne departing at latest 1pm, to arrive back in Melbourne by 6pm at latest at the Scout Hall.
As it is a long drive to and from Mitchell River National Park, all drivers are staying and walking/camping. You may want to camp with us and follow walking with the Adult group.

2: ‘Second Patrol’ Lewis – PL – with Nick, Rama and Ollie.
3: ‘Following’ Leaders– Graeme, Tjon and John M. Walking behind out of sight, in radio range.
4: James H - ‘Base Camp’ Camping with us at Angusvale and then again at Billy Goat Bend.
All parties will have Maps, UHF Radios and GPS’s and will call in at scheduled call in times.
Driving Directions.
Take Monash Freeway (M1) and them turn off to Princess Highway (A1) after Dandenong to continue passing by Packenham, Warragul, Morewell, Traralgon, and Sale.
About 35km after Sale (20km after Stratford), take left turn towards Fernbank on the Fernbank-Glenaladale Road.
Turn left onto C601 onto the Bairnsdale-Dargo Road
Turn right onto Angusvale Road, and follow to the end to the Angusvale camping area.
This is where we will be camping the Friday night.
Pickup: will be at Scout Hall 6pm Sunday after driving from the Picnic area near Den of Nargun.
This is found off the Bairnsdale – Dargo Road, off Waller Road to the end where there is the picnic area for Den of Nargun, Bluff Lookout
