Warby Trail Ride

Warby Trail Ride

The Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail is an iconic 40 km recreation trail for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The trail follows the path of the historical railway line through the stunning Yarra Valley starting behind Lilydale Railway Station and finishing in Warburton.

Be at the hall at 8.30 am this Saturday 22nd August with your bike. We will be driving with the bikes in the scout trailer to Seville where we will be starting our 24km stretch of the ride. Don`t panic if you have not ever ridden a bike that far before, this is not the Tour de France. We have all day to do it, with a leader at the front and one at the back of the pack. There will also be a support vehicle following at every station along the way. Yarra Junction will be the lunch stop for fish and chips. Warburton caravan park is our final destination where we will be setting up camp for the night. We will return to the Scout hall Sunday at 1pm.

For Scouts who have Sunday sports or other commitments you have the flexibility to just do the ride as a day trip without the camp, if so you will need to be picked up from Warburton caravan park after 4pm Saturday afternoon.  There is already a Scout not being able to make it for the whole trip and so there is a spare seat if needed for a Scout for on the drive back on Saturday afternoon.

Please email me, preferably before Wednesday night, stating if you can come for the day, the camp or not at all. This will be a popular activity so we need to get an idea of numbers for transport arrangements and be well organised so all Scouts get the most out of the day.
If any parents would like to come along for the ride your welcome to join us!

Looking forward to a fun weekend

John
