Hi scouts, on the weekend I joined Johann and Darren (leaders Lynden Park) and Neil (leader 1st city) plus some rovers and took part in a rock climbing weekend run by the Branch Rock climbing team.
We climbed in the Northern Grampians, it was great fun. Climbing on real rock rather than the indoor rock climbing walls was a lot of fun. I was very impressed with the safety culture too.
Anyway, the team are running weekends throughout this year, I would love to get a small group of scouts together and take part. We said we would promote adventure activities in an earlier blog, here it is. We would head off Friday night for a long drive, arriving 11pm to set up tents ready for Saturday climbing. Sunday we would climb in the morning and head home by dinner time.
We would aim for winter and/or spring. I am also trying to get venturers interested.
Cost will be food, camping fees and petrol. Anyway if people are interested please let Martin know.
