Hi team, in response to a number of comments about patrols and friendship groups, in 2 weeks time on the night we prepare for raft race we will be conducting a survey and will work out some changes. Some people in patrols with lots of scouts in it will need to move patrols to balance out numbers. We try to keep a balance of numbers, ratio of boys/girls and ratio of ages.
So we will ask everyone a couple of questions including:
- Are you happy where you are ?
- Do you have at least one friend in your patrol ?
- If not who would you really like to be in a patrol with (1 name) ?
- Are you interested in an APL role ?
We have a number of new scouts coming, some cubs and some looking at joining the group. We will also see some changes this year as scouts go up to Venturers. Nobody likes change but more importantly some people really dont like the consequences of us not changing (eg being in a patrol wit no friends with you).
Troop council will be asked to discuss and approve the changes.
